Balmes terrace
Estela did not use her house rooftop because it was in a poor state and it was unwelcoming.
The project transforms this open-air space into a potential house extension with a new purpose. The wooden floor levels the terrace in order to make it a useful space. The perimeter is set by wood panels which give more height to the railing and visually isolate the space from the neighbours. Acoustic contamination is solved with polycarbonate panels behind the wood. A storage space is also provided with a small working area. The sunshade and the furniture provide the final touch for a quiet and welcoming renovated terrace.
